Dr. Gus Gordon is an accounting professor at UT Tyler. He also teaches in the university’s online MBA program. His background is in economics and accounting.

Gus Gordon, DBA, CPA, CIA, CLSSS is a tenured, Full Professor at the University of Texas at Tyler. His research interests include leadership, continuous improvement and performance measurement. His teaching responsibilities are cost and management accounting at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
Dr. Gordon has published two books and over 60 articles in academic and practitioner journals and/or presentations at academic conferences. He has spoken at the American Society for Quality's Lean Six Sigma Summit and is scheduled to speak at the American Manufacturing Strategies Summit in 2015.
Dr. Gordon co-founded a manufacturing plant in Merida, Mexico. While he was CEO, the company grew from 4 employees to about 700 and became ISO 9000 certified. His experience as CEO has been invaluable in teaching and research. Other professional experience includes public accounting, banking and oil and gas.

To give back what I have learned about business, especially from my experience as CEO. Textbooks provide only a small foundation to the knowledge base necessary to be successful.

Work hard, be persistent and do the right thing.
